Stars out for War Child

Hot Chip DJ for kids
29 May 2008 - Stars of the music world are gathering in London to support the charity helping youngsters affected by war.

Hot Chip, Does It Offend You Yeah and Rumble Strips are doing their bit for the War Child Charity.

It’s the annual ‘Army of You’ event at Scala in London’s King’s Cross and the likes of Kid Harpoon and Edward J Hicks will be taking to the stage.   Plus – Filthy Dukes and Stop Making Me will be DJ-ing with headliners Hot Chip.

‘Army of You’ is War Child’s annual dance party – where music’s greats gather to raise money for children caught up in the horrors of war.   Last year the event sold out – with The Noisettes, These New Puritans, Friendly Fires and Simian Mobile Disco supporting the event.
I definitely have more excitement and adrenalin playing with a live band, nothing beats that .
Joe - Hot Chip
Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard says with the line up this year, he’s pleased to be involved:

“I’m a fan of quite a lot of the guys actually.   I’ve worked with the Adventures Close To Home guys before, and Punk Jump Up I’ve DJ’d with before.  The Rumble Strips are old friends of mine.   So it all looks pretty good”.

Joe also told 6 Music he’s looking forward to DJ-ing as opposed to playing with his bandmates:

“There’s really great things about both sides of it. I definitely have more excitement and adrenalin playing with a live band, nothing beats that, really.   DJ-ing is far more simple and as it’s a solo thing, generally, you can really just do what you want”.
