Awards handed out for this year's bash
22 May 08 - The winners of this year’s Ivor Novello awards, which took place in London, have been announced.The event started at 2pm today (22 May) at the Grosvenor House Hotel and Amy Winehouse won the Best Song Musically and Lyrically Award with her hit Love Is A Losing Game.
Album award
The album Award went to Radiohead for their record In Rainbows.
The PRS Most Performed Work Award went to Take That for their song Shine and the International Achievement Award was for Phil Collins.
Jazzie B, who recently got an OBE, was awarded the Ivors Inspiration Award.
Songwriter
Songwriter of the Year went to Mika and the Outstanding Song Collection nod went in the direction of Gabrielle.
Ivor Novello was a British musician, songwriter, playwright and actor whose memory is honoured by these awards.
Composed
Novello composed some of the most popular and poignant songs of the first World War including Keep The Home Fires Burning - and We’ll Gather Lilacs.
