CSS Rock Rockness

Scottish crowds treated to new CSS material
08 June 08 - Today (Sunday 08 June) is the second day of the Rockness festival in Scotland. Around 35000 people are expected to flock to the festival site at Dores near Inverness.

Headline acts include Razorlight, Underworld and other bands on the bill include The Cribs and Editors.

But it is Brazilian electro-pop group CSS who will be using Rockness as an opportunity to unleash some new material. Their album, Donkey, is out next month and the band are looking forward to unleashing it on the Scottish crowds.

6music spoke to their frontwoman Lovefoxx who said this album is definitely be an improvement on their self titled debut:

"I think the album is a bit more rounded. I am very happy about this album. We all are. When we released the first one I felt something wasn't finished."

Lovefoxxx said Rockness will be a good place to unleash the new songs because they lend themselves to being played live:

"I think it's a bit louder and a bit more energitic than the last record. It has more of a live feeling to it and it's definitely more guitar orientated. It sounds more like us when we're live because there isn't too much production."

Rockness has had great weather over the weekend and its just as well because CSS hoped to get their audiences dancing rather than slipping around in the mud. Lovefoxxx told us:

"Its wierd because this album is different to anything we've done. It's fast but it's slow. When you dance to it you dance like its in slow motion."
