Primal Scream return

Mani and Bobby talk about their new album
01 Mar 08 - Primal Scream have assured us there will be a new album from the band.

It has been two years since their last record, Riot City Blues , and frontman Bobby Gillespie has also been busy recording with Paul Weller for another project.

However, Mani said that Primal Scream will be around for some while yet.

"We love being together and we love making music," he said."Until one of us dies, we're going to keep on doing just that. Thank you."

He added: "We're right in the middle of recording the new album, which is going great."

Gillespie revealed some more details about which producers are involved with this record - including half of Simian Mobile Disco.

"We did some tracks with Youth, Paul Epworth - we did something with him," he said. "James Ford is going to do a mix for us as well and we've been producing stuff ourselves."

Former touring guitarist Kevin Shields re-joined the band for their V appearance last year, but he is unlikely to be available for their next album campaign as My Bloody Valentine have since reunited.
